A few years ago while on tour with The Motels, I began taking photographs of hotel room sinks--but after a dozen identical ones I lost interest. Not so with hotel corridor carpets. There are many styles, all designed under the category of Hospitality Carpet. The first in this series was taken July 12, 2017 in Wawatosa, WI; the last one on board the Explorer of the Seas cruise ship in Miami March 8, 2020 just as the Coronavirus was showing up.

Other than the time spent on stage playing music--about 1/20 of the day--touring is a disorienting experience what with the flying and driving and checking in and out of hotels. Hospitality carpeting design adds some extra special wackiness. Scroll through these and get a feel for being on the road...
